Provides Training For The US Army

"... The International Training Group (ITG®) provided protective operations training to the US Army's 3rd Brigade 3rd Infantry Division based in Fort Benning, GA in December of 2004. These troops have been preparing for their deployment to Iraq in early 2005 and will be operating in a high risk region of the country.

Soldiers were trained on conducting protective operations in high-risk environments, attack recognition, motorcade operations, recognition of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and the techniques used in searching both buildings and vehicles. In order to prepare the unit for becoming more efficient and effective when responding to ambushes, various force-on-force scenarios were used as part of this training program.

“We're excited about expanding our business by working with the US Military Forces, and are proud to make a small contribution to their efforts in the war against terrorism,” said Dave Johnson, Director of Special Projects & Training.

The Platoon Leader responsible for preparing his unit for deployment stated…”Not only have we learned a new field skill in this course…this training has given us a better ability to be more effective in combat.”

Johnson advised “these soldiers told us that this was either the best training they have ever received since joining the US Army or that they knew personally that their training would make them more effective in combat. The force on force scenarios we used were based on actual experience gained in this field of endeavor and upon tactics, techniques and procedures being used by the insurgents in Iraq today. These scenarios were so popular that the soldiers requested that we give them more practical exercises instead of the live fire training exercise we had originally scheduled.”

Among the benefits provided during the training was a realistic assessment of what was important in order to be able to conduct protective operations in such a high risk environment. “All of our instructors have backgrounds in conducting high threat protective operations and training in the military…we were readily able to understand the needs and desires of the soldiers,” stated Johnson. “That allowed us to focus the effort on skills and knowledge that would help them be successful in their mission and to hopefully have a safer deployment.”

The training was conducted at an undisclosed location in Florida.
